The Wesfarmers Centre Research Retreat will be held at the Novotel Vines Resort in the Swan Valley.

Overnight accomodation in resort rooms, twin share, two queen beds are included as part of the registration cost. 

Check in is after 2pm on 8 August and you are welcome to leave your baggage with the front reception on arrival. Check out is 10am on 9 August.

Please indicate on the trybooking online registration form if you have a preference on who you share a room with. 


Morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea will be provided at the retreat. A buffet winter roast dinner (excluding drinks) will be served in the evening.

Please inform us of any special dietary requests when registering your place.

As breakfast will not be provided, the hotel offers a buffet or a la cart meals at an additional cost. You may also wish to visit some nearby cafes in the Swan Valley instead.


The dress code for the research retreat is casual (anything goes) to provide an environment that is comfortable and inclusive for all.

Don't forget to raid your wardrobe for your best 'ugly jumper' to wear on Friday - there will be prizes for the best dressed.

The Swan Valley is about 30km from the Perth CBD & will take approximately 30 mins by car.


Student presentations are maximum three minutes and can have one single slide only.

Teams presentations will be 15 minutes long and should demonstrate what your team is currently working on. Teams are encouraged to be as creative as possible and ensure junior researchers have plenty of involvement.
